WAXING

Waxing is a great option to remove unwanted facial and body hair. The results will last 2-5 weeks depending on the individuals hair and skin. Waxing also exfoliates the skin. Hair growth slows down with regular treatments.

Tips for waxing (for body waxing specially)-

-exfoliate your skin regularly and specially before your wax appointment atleast 24 hours before or the same day.

-skin should be free of any creams or oils before the wax.

-after your wax, do not apply anything to the area for the next few hours.

-for face, after wax/threading keep hair away from face, use clean towels and change pillowcase frequently.

-do not scratch the area that has been freshly waxed/threaded. Some guests may experience slight itchiness which is normal since the follicles have just has hair removed... this can happen for first timers or if it has been awhile since the last service. You may apply ice at home or splash cold water on the area to help calm down the irritation.

-wear loose clothing 24-48 hours specially after a body wax procedure. Pores need to breath and heal.

-retinol ointments or acne medication should be applied on the area to be waxed 3 day before and after.

PLEASE NOTE-

Certain medications can make your skin more sensitive and fragile,

and may temporary lead to complications during waxing.

Accutane, Retin-A, and other topical or oral acne medications, as well as blood thinners, certain antibiotics, and medications for autoimmune diseases.  â€‹

Accutane or Differin or acne medication can cause the skin to become thin and delicate, making it prone to tearing and bruising during waxing. It's recommended to wait at least six months and up to a full year, after stopping any prescribed medication.

Retin-A and or similar products can thin the skin and increase sensitivity. It's recommended to avoid waxing while using these products, or to discontinue use for a week before and after waxing.

Blood thinner medications can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising during waxing. If you are taking blood thinners, it's important to discuss with your doctor if you can have waxing done.
